The world’s largest dahlia flower parade takes place every year in Zundert on the first Sunday in September. Creative constructions measuring 9 m high, 19 m long and 4 ½ m wide are pushed by manpower through the streets of Zundert on Sunday, 2 September 2018. To accomplish this, the 20 parishes in the municipality of Zundert plant dahlia tubers. Each float in the Zundert Flower Parade contains around 800,000 dahlias in all varieties and colours. The tubers originate mostly from the Westland. The Bollenstreek [bulb region] is thus also a partner of the Zunderts Flower Parade. In a smaller format, the Stichting Bloemencorso Zundert [flower parade foundation] wants to embellish the opening of the Holland Dahlia Event with an artwork made of dahlias and placed in the garden of Kasteel Keukenhof in Lisse.
