Dahlia takes centre stage during the Dune and Bulb Marches

This year’s Duin&Bollen4daagse was from 10 to 13 October. This made it the conclusion of the dahlia season. The Dahlia took centre stage during the Duin- en Bollen Vierdaagse.

In cooperation with flower arrangers Tineke Meiland and Michael van Namen, the start and finish location was decorated with dahlia arrangements. Jolande and Denise again mosaiced the giant chair with dahlias. All this was supported by a number of volunteers with whom we are very happy. On finish-day, dahlias were distributed to all walkers. Four days in a row, all objects were transported in the early hours from Hillegom, Lisse, Katwijk to Noordwijk by Ton, Jolanda, Arnold and Anja.

After four days of walking and enjoying nature, the dahlia season came to a close. So the Dune and Bulb Vierdaagse, which traditionally takes place in the first week of October, offers not only a sporting challenge, but also a cultural and visual experience following the dahlia closely until the end of its bloom.

A wonderful experience and fine collaboration!
