On behalf of all participants of the HDE, we will put the dahlia in the spotlight during the weekend of September 6, 7 and 8 on the Keukenhof Castle estate.
This year the theme is let’s Dance and we will see that reflected in the objects at Keukenhof Estate. The students from Vonk, Flower & Design department, will soon start designing the objects. We wish them the best of luck!
The large giant chair, decorated with dahlias, is a recognizable and recurring object on the estate. Many visitors take a seat on that beautiful chair and take a selfie. So that should not be missed this year either.
During the flower parade in the Bulb Region, we will look for a car that fits the theme of the Holland Dahlia Event. This wagon will then be decorated with dahlias and can be admired in the garden of Keukenhof Castle.
During the weekend of the Holland Dahlia Event, many mosaics in the Dune and Bulb Region will be on display from the Dahlia Mosaics Foundation, which are devised and made by volunteers. We hope that the Let’s dance theme will provide a lot of inspiration to create beautiful creations in which the dahlia takes center stage.
And our guest speaker? We’ll keep that a secret for a while. But it will be an inspiring opening on Friday, September 6, 4:00 PM.
